CCG’s Annual Tech Leadership Retreat at Lajitas Golf Resort
Forging new business relationships is an essential part of our work at CCG; we partner with hundreds of technology providers and work with them to create customized IT solutions for our clients. We also commit ourselves to continuous education by learning about the industry’s newest technologies and the providers who create them. This not only helps us grow our business, but allows our team to provide better service to our clients as well.
This methodology is what inspired us to create and host our annual tech leadership retreat, an event where several of the industry’s most influential IT leaders can come together to share ideas and forge new business relationships in a casual setting. This year, we’re excited to return to Lajitas Golf Resort to host another productive weekend of networking and recreation with several of our partners!
Annual Tech Leadership Retreat Objectives
Every year, the goal of our tech leadership retreat is to give CIOs, CTOs, and company leaders an opportunity to discuss the latest IT innovations in a neutral space that encourages relationship-building and networking. Taking time to get out of the office to talk shop is a major draw for our retreat; it allows IT leaders to truly get to know each other and learn more about their respective companies. Plus, it’s hard to say “no” to an all-inclusive resort trip!

CCG’s Itinerary at Lajitas
Our 3 days at Lajitas Golf Resort were full of fun activities and insightful discussions; here are some of the highlights from our time there:
Hitting the Green
Our first item of the day was playing the world-famous Lajitas golf course, and it’s safe to say that it did not disappoint! “Black Jack’s Crossing” is consistently ranked as one of the top golf courses to play in Texas, and it only took us a few minutes to discover why. The stunning desert landscape and beautifully-manicured greens made for an excellent experience, even if our shots didn’t end up going the way we expected them to!
Shooting Our Shots
After hitting the green, our team visited the shooting range at Lajitas Golf Resort to show off our marksmanship skills to our colleagues. We went to try out a variety of different firearms, and with the sprawling desert surrounding us, we couldn’t help but feel like the main characters in a western movie (that is, if cowboys were also IT experts). With our skills tested and egos inflated, we headed off to engage in some networking and edification.
Listening and Learning
One of the highlights of our time at Lajitas was hearing from several of our partners on their latest IT innovations. With the technology landscape undergoing constant changes, it’s important for our team to continuously seek out and learn more about the newest tech. We attended lectures and discussions from our partners on their most recent innovations; one standout from the discussion came from our partners at Talkdesk. Patrick Yoon, RVP of Enterprise AI Specialized Sales, led an engaging discussion on how Talkdesk’s call center solutions leverage AI to improve CX–we definitely took some good notes from that discussion!
Forging New Relationships
Perhaps the most important takeaway we had from our tech leadership retreat are the relationships that we made along the way; it was a privilege to meet so many influential IT leaders from across the industry. Sharing ideas and discussing our approaches to meeting our customers’ unique needs allowed us to better understand how to serve them. This was a truly rewarding experience that opened our eyes to new ideas and long-term business strategies.
